About Us

Souper Sunday Founder Chris Hyde, maker of free soup for anyone.

Our Mission

Souper Sunday is dedicated to fostering community through the simple act of sharing a warm meal. Our mission is to create a culture of generosity, inclusion, and kindness by providing homemade soup to those in need, strengthening the bonds between neighbors, and inspiring grassroots giving.

Our Vision

We envision a world where no one feels alone or hungry, where communities are built through compassion and shared meals. By empowering people to start their own Souper Sunday groups, we hope to create a ripple effect of kindness that spreads across neighborhoods, cities, and beyond.

The Food Source Foundation

Souper Sunday is a community-driven initiative of the Food Source Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity in the greater Olympia, WA area and beyond. With a mission to ensure equitable access to nourishing food, the foundation fosters local partnerships and innovative solutions to support individuals and families facing food insecurity. It caters to those who are low income, disabled and homeless, as well as to a growing class of fully-employed community members who are getting priced out of their basic needs by ever increasing rent, utilities, insurance and all the other basic costs that we all need to survive. The Food Source Foundation serves anyone who is food insecure without question.
